TANIT | Institute for Entangled Research is a research and curatorial platform operating at the intersections of contemporary art, the humanities, textile design, and caring curatorial practices. It is emerging as a space that interweaves theory and practice, research and production, community and infrastructure.
Through the institute we develop a methodology of entangled curating that understands artworks, research processes, bodies, materials, and spaces as interdependent and mutually shaping. We do not build projects as isolated units, but entangled long term relationships. We are interested in the threads that connect knowledge with lived experience, reading with action, rest with labour, textile with thought.
TANIT establishes research formats, exhibitions, publications, reading groups, and pedagogical programs that contribute to new models of knowledge and artwork production. Operating between local and international contexts, the institute builds collaborative networks grounded in solidarity, curiosity, and critical reflection.
We believe that the future of art and research lies not in isolation, but in entanglement. In a world that demands speed and simplification, we insist on complexity, care, and duration.

Who are we?
Tia Čiček holds a master’s degree in art history and works as a curator of contemporary arts exhibitions through which they research and experiment with alternative processes and collaborations that reconsider the circumstances, tasks, and relationships of curating. They completed the course Thinking With Works of Art under the mentorship of Ruth Noack and Grace Samboh at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. In 2020, they completed the School for Curatorial Practice and Critical Writing – World of Art (SCCA-Ljubljana). Between 2020 and 2025, they were artistic director of Škuc Gallery, and since July 2022, together with Lara Plavčak and Urška Aplinc, they have been running the World of Art school. In 2024, they were selected as a resident of the Artist-in-Residence program in Vienna’s museum quarter (MQ Wien), supported by the ERSTE Foundation. Since 2026, they have been collaborating with the Institute for Publishing, Production, Education, and Research – Maska Ljubljana.
Nina Glavič is a textile researcher and maker who reactivates regional knitting traditions through a contemporary lens. She holds an MA in Textile and Fashion Design from the University of Ljubljana, where she also works as a Technical Assistant in Textile Design, and studied at Designskolen Kolding (Denmark). Her practice weaves together handcraft knowledge and mechanical textile production, exploring how local techniques and embodied making can sync with technological processes. Through a place-based approach, she is building a living “knitting library” that interlaces diverse cultural traditions through shared technical logic and tactile memory. Glavič has exhibited at BIEN – Slovenian Textile Art Biennial (2021, 2023, 2025), Povezovanja (Center Rog, 2024), and Heksagon, kjer so čebele doma (Slovene Ethnographic Museum, 2018–2019). Her current work spins connections between craft heritage, textile technology, and cultural geography, bridging the Alpine–Adriatic and North Atlantic knitting worlds.
